The complete, easy-to-follow guide · Lotería13 · Updated October 2026

You buy a Spanish lottery ticket online and then wonder: Where is the physical ticket? Does the lottery office keep it for me? Can it be sent to my home? May I pick it up myself? Can someone else collect it? What if I want to play every week or reserve a Christmas number every year? These are sensible questions, particularly if you are buying Spanish lottery tickets from a distance.

At Lotería13 we aim to make the options clear. This guide explains free storage of physical tickets, shipping and delivery charges, in-person collection and QR collection codes, weekly subscriptions, Christmas and El Niño lottery subscriptions, lottery for businesses and free printing of Christmas lottery participation slips for associations. Every section includes practical explanations and examples.

Remember two important advantages: holding your physical lottery tickets in storage at our lottery office is free. Designing and printing Christmas lottery participation slips for eligible associations and other groups is also free of printing charges. The lottery tickets themselves still have to be purchased, and optional physical delivery is charged separately.

1. First things first: what can I do at Lotería13?

Think of Lotería13 as one lottery office with two ways to reach us: our physical counter at Calle Hierbabuena 28, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona, and our online shop at www.loteria13.es. You can search for available ticket numbers, find draws, place orders and access support online.

There are three different decisions. First, what are you buying? A physical Spanish National Lottery ticket, a EuroMillions bet, or a syndicate share? Second, how often do you want to take part? Once, or through a subscription when available? Third, what should happen to the physical ticket? Free storage at the office, home delivery or collection over the counter? These are separate choices, and selecting one does not automatically select another.

2. How to buy Spanish lottery tickets online in five simple steps

  1. Choose the draw. Open Christmas Lottery, El Niño or Spanish National Lottery.
  2. Search for a five-digit ticket number or browse the available numbers. Check the draw date carefully.
  3. Choose the number of tickets and add them to your basket. Confirm the number, date, quantity and lottery value.
  4. Choose an available payment method. The website lists payment card, Bizum, bank transfer and user-account balance. Bank transfers may take time to clear.
  5. Choose what happens to your physical tickets. Free storage, shipping or collection, depending on your order. Keep your confirmation and receipt.

Example: you purchase two €20 Christmas Lottery tickets. The lottery value is €40. Free storage adds €0. If you choose delivery, the confirmed shipping cost is extra. Buying online does not necessarily mean that a parcel will be sent to your house.

3. Free ticket storage: what it means and how it works

When you choose storage or custody, Lotería13 keeps the physical lottery ticket at its lottery office on your behalf instead of posting it immediately. This is helpful if you buy Christmas tickets months before the draw, do not want to wait for a courier or simply prefer not to carry a valuable piece of paper around.

The idea is simple. You select and purchase the ticket, request storage, keep your order confirmation, and the lottery office holds the physical ticket according to the purchase terms. If you later need information or want to collect your ticket, consult your account or contact the office. The charge for this storage service is €0.

Storage is not an extra bet and not transport insurance. You still pay the official price for the lottery ticket. You are simply choosing where the physical ticket is kept. If you plan to collect it later, first check the collection process and that it is ready for release.

4. What if a ticket held in storage wins a prize?

Being held in storage does not change the lottery result or the amount of any prize. Once the draw has taken place, check the official result and follow the correct prize-claiming procedure. Different prize amounts may involve different identification and payment arrangements. Large prizes can require additional documentation and payment through authorised financial institutions.

Always keep your confirmation and the identifying details of your order. Do not confuse a stored ticket with funds that are automatically available to spend: the result must first be checked and the prize processed under the relevant rules.

5. Physical delivery: what it costs and where it is available

You can request physical delivery if you want the original paper ticket sent to an eligible address. Delivery is a separate service paid by the buyer; its fee is not included in the official lottery-ticket price.

The public Lotería13 Help page states a €10 urgent shipping charge for mainland Spain, the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands, with an indicative delivery time of 24–48 hours after dispatch from the office. This is the tariff appearing on that published page. Always confirm the currently applicable shipping price in the checkout before paying.

Option Published price or condition What it means
Free storage at the lottery office €0 Your physical tickets remain stored at Lotería13.
Collection at the counter Check the specific order conditions You collect the physical tickets in person.
Urgent shipping within Spain €10 on the published Help page Confirm the current checkout price and eligible destination.
Shipping outside Spain Not offered according to the Help page Physical international shipment is not advertised.
Additional shipping insurance No independently verified public price Ask for the exact cover, conditions and cost.

Important: the advertised 24–48 hours starts when the parcel leaves the lottery office, not when you click the buy button. Draw closing times, weekends, holidays, payment processing and order preparation may affect dispatch. If you need the ticket by a particular date, ask first.

6. Shipping insurance: what it actually means

An urgent parcel and an insured parcel are not the same thing. Urgent shipping refers to the speed of transport. Insurance, when actually included or purchased, refers to contractual cover for defined events such as loss or damage. We should never promise an insurance payout without checking the applicable policy.

We have not found a separate, verifiable public shipping-insurance tariff on Lotería13's website. Before requesting insurance, ask these specific questions: Is there cover already included? Is additional cover available? What does it cost? What value is covered? Are there exclusions? What should I do if a parcel is lost or damaged? The final answer depends on the transport service and contractual terms confirmed for your order.

If you do not need the physical ticket at home, free storage may be simpler. If you do, compare the actual courier cost and any confirmed insurance conditions before paying.

7. Buy online, collect at the lottery counter

Buying online does not always require home delivery. If your order supports it, you can choose collection at the Lotería13 counter. This is convenient if you live or work near L'Hospitalet, prefer to receive the original ticket by hand or want to avoid waiting for a courier.

Place and pay for the order, select collection if offered, wait until you are told the ticket is ready, and take the order details and applicable collection code to the counter. Staff will verify the transaction before handing it over. Please check that your purchase is ready before travelling to the office.

8. Can a friend or family member collect using my QR code?

Yes. Lotería13 supports collection of eligible online orders by another trusted person using the corresponding collection QR code, subject to the checks and conditions of the order. For example, you might buy tickets while at work and ask your brother or a close friend to collect them for you.

Make sure the order is ready; share the QR code privately with the person you trust and tell them to follow any additional checks required by the lottery office. Never post the QR code on social media or send it to strangers. It may be used as evidence of collection authorisation. If your QR code is lost, contact the office through official channels for instructions.

Easy example: Marta buys three lottery tickets online. She cannot get to the counter during opening hours, so she sends her order's collection QR privately to her brother. He presents it at the counter and follows any requested verification steps. The office records the handover.

9. What is a lottery subscription?

A subscription (called an abono in Spanish) organises participation across several draws. Instead of preparing a separate order from scratch every time, you select a supported arrangement that covers specified dates and bets.

However, a subscription does not automatically mean a ticket number is reserved forever, that all future draws are prepaid or that the subscription renews indefinitely. You need to confirm which lottery, which numbers, how many draws, the subscription period, the price, when payments are taken, what happens if you have insufficient funds, and whether renewal is automatic or requires approval.

↑ Back to the index

10. Weekly subscriptions for EuroMillions and other games

Imagine you always play the same EuroMillions numbers or repeat a La Primitiva combination. A suitable subscription can help you organise your preferred bets across a specified run of draws. Choose the game and numbers, select the available period, review the total cost, confirm the payment and check the validated bets in your account history.

Do not mistake a subscription request for a validated bet. If payment fails or the period has ended, a future draw may not be covered. The price depends on the game, the bet and the number of draws, so there is no single universal subscription price.

↑ Back to the index

11. Weekly Spanish National Lottery subscriptions: Thursday and Saturday

Spanish National Lottery typically includes Thursday and Saturday draws, plus special draws. Depending on the available service, you can ask how to organise recurring purchases of a particular ticket number for selected draws.

If you want Thursdays only, say so. If you want Saturdays only, say so. If you want both, check which exact dates and ticket prices are included. The price of a National Lottery ticket varies by draw. Ask what happens if your preferred number is unavailable and how each purchase is confirmed.

12. Christmas Lottery subscriptions: planning ahead

A Christmas Lottery subscription or ongoing reservation arrangement may be useful if you look for the same five-digit number every year or need tickets for a family group. The Christmas Lottery draw takes place on 22 December 2026, and its official ticket price is €20 per décimo.

Start by checking the number and availability. Then discuss the quantity and terms of reservation, the payment deadline and whether the tickets will be stored for free, collected or sent by post. Buying a number in one year does not guarantee automatic availability or reservation of that number next year. Any annual renewal must be explicitly confirmed.

↑ Back to the index

13. El Niño Lottery subscriptions: the January draw

The next El Niño draw takes place on 6 January 2027 and an official décimo costs €20. A subscription or reservation arrangement can help you plan your ticket purchase for this separate seasonal draw.

For example, you may want two tickets ending in a favourite digit every January. Ask about availability, confirmation and payment. A Christmas subscription does not automatically include El Niño. They are separate draws with separate tickets, dates and booking conditions.

↑ Back to the index

14. How to check and manage your subscriptions

For every subscription you should be able to answer six questions: Which game? Which numbers? Which dates? How much have I paid? Where is the confirmation? How can I alter or stop future participation under the applicable terms?

Keep payment messages, review your order history and check the validated tickets or bets. Do not assume a saved preference, a reservation request or an account balance automatically validates every future draw. Seasonal demand makes early confirmation especially important for Christmas and El Niño.

15. Business lottery: an example from the beginning

Imagine a company with 40 employees that wants to organise shared Christmas Lottery purchases. Without an organised process, people may buy different numbers, lose track of payments or not know who owns which tickets. The Lotería13 Business Lottery service helps businesses enquire about group reservations and managed access.

Step 1: a company representative contacts Lotería13, stating the preferred number, number of tickets and deadlines. Step 2: availability and terms are reviewed. Step 3: the company and lottery office agree how employees can access or take part in the purchase. Step 4: confirmed orders and payments are checked. Step 5: everyone knows which tickets or shares they have, the amount played and how their tickets will be delivered or stored.

The company does not necessarily pay for every employee; equally, individual employee payments are not automatic. The payment and distribution model needs to be agreed explicitly. Never advertise an unconfirmed number as reserved.

16. Lottery for associations, clubs and community groups

An association, sports club, parents' group or community organisation often wants printed lottery participation slips for members, families or supporters. The first step is to tell Lotería13 who you are, the draw, the preferred number, the expected number of slips and the lottery amount represented by each one.

You should also establish who distributes the slips, how their issue is recorded, where the supporting original tickets are held and how any winnings will be handled. These are practical safeguards that help prevent confusion among members.

↑ Back to the index

17. Free printing of participation slips: what is free, and what is not

This is an important Lotería13 service: design and printing of Christmas Lottery participation slips for associations and other eligible organisations is offered free of printing charges. But the lottery value represented by those slips is not free. The supporting lottery tickets must be paid for.

Example: a sports club needs 200 participation slips. Each slip records a specified amount played in the Christmas draw. The total amount must be properly supported by genuine lottery tickets and documented arrangements. Lotería13 does not charge the group for printing the slips; the underlying lottery purchase remains payable.

Before printing, carefully check the organisation name, draw, date, number, amount played, numbering and claiming conditions. If any permitted donation or extra contribution is involved, it must be clearly distinguished from the amount actually played in the lottery. The organisation remains responsible for checking its legal and administrative obligations.

18. Business or association? Two easy examples

A business: an office requests 60 Christmas Lottery tickets for employees. Its priority is organising the reservation, access, payments and handover.

An association: a sports club wants printed participation slips for members and supporters. Its priority is clear documents supported by the correct amount of lottery tickets. The free printing service is particularly relevant here.

In both situations, the number, availability, costs and responsibilities should be confirmed before the tickets or slips are distributed.

↑ Back to the index

19. Payment methods: how not to miss a draw

Lotería13 publishes several payment options, including payment card, Bizum, bank transfer and user-account balance. The crucial point is when the payment has actually been received and the order confirmed. Bank transfers can be slower than instant payment methods.

Example: only a few hours remain before a draw closes and you initiate a bank transfer. A confirmation from your own bank that you sent the transfer does not necessarily mean the lottery office has received and validated the funds. If timing matters, check which payment methods are accepted for the order and wait for the actual purchase confirmation.

20. Five common mistakes to avoid

  1. Confusing storage with shipping. Storage means the ticket stays at the lottery office. Shipping means it is physically sent to an address.
  2. Thinking “no commission” means “free courier”. Ticket prices and physical shipping fees are separate.
  3. Assuming a subscription always renews. Check renewal conditions, dates and payment.
  4. Sharing a collection QR publicly. Only share it privately with someone you genuinely trust.
  5. Mistaking free printing for free lottery tickets. Free printing covers the service, not the value played.

21. Frequently asked questions

Is ticket storage really free?

Yes. Holding physical tickets at the Lotería13 lottery office costs €0. You still pay for the tickets themselves.

What is the delivery price?

The published Help page lists €10 for urgent shipping to mainland Spain, the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands. Confirm the current checkout price.

Is my parcel automatically insured?

A separate insurance policy and cover have not been verified in the public information. Ask the office what the selected shipping service includes.

How much does additional shipping insurance cost?

No independently verified public price was found. Request the price and coverage terms before choosing the service.

Can I pay online and collect in person?

Yes, where collection is offered for your order and the purchase is ready for handover.

Can someone else use my collection QR code?

Yes, a trusted person may collect an eligible order with the corresponding QR, subject to the office's checks.

What if I lose my collection QR code?

Contact Lotería13 via official channels, identify your order and request further instructions.

Are a subscription and a syndicate the same thing?

No. A subscription organises participation over several draws. A syndicate shares specified bets or tickets among participants under its own conditions.

Can I subscribe to Thursday draws only?

Check whether that National Lottery arrangement is available and which dates it covers.

Will I receive the same Christmas number every year?

You can request information about ongoing reservation, but availability and renewal must be confirmed for each year.

Does a Christmas subscription also cover El Niño?

Not automatically. Check the two draws separately.

Can my business reserve lottery for its employees?

Yes. Businesses can enquire about a group reservation and management arrangement, subject to confirmation.

Do you print participation slips for clubs for free?

Lotería13 offers free design and printing of Christmas Lottery participation slips for eligible organisations. The lottery value is still payable.

Can participation slips include a donation?

Check the applicable legal rules first. Any allowed donation should be clearly separate from the amount played.

Where can I check winning results?

See the draw results page and verify the results against official sources.
